In the role of Systems Engineer, you work with our client on hardware-centric systems engineering in technically complex development projects. You follow the product through its entire lifecycle – from requirements engineering and system design at the unit level (LRU/SRU) to integration, verification, and production-related issues. The role involves many interfaces and close collaboration with, for example, software developers, system designers, RF/microwave specialists, test developers, and production.

The work takes place in an environment with many stakeholders and parallel projects, where you are the requirements owner and act as a cohesive link between several disciplines. The role involves close collaboration with testing and production activities, and some tasks are performed on-site in the test environment.

Examples of Responsibilities

• Own and further develop the requirements picture for one or several central units, including defining, prioritizing, and approving requirements.
• Create design documentation at the system and unit level.
• Define and write test cases for formal verification and production testing.
• Monitor integration and system testing of hardware, such as temperature measurements and physical tests in production-like environments.
• Analyze test results, test logs, and test data in case of deviations, and drive troubleshooting together with specialists in testing and development.
• Gather feedback from verification/testing and feed improvements back into requirements and design.
• Support the development and production organization in matters ranging from technical documentation to technical investigations.

We are looking for you who thrive in a broad and coordinating systems engineering role with a clear hardware focus. You create structure, drive issues forward, and hold the whole together in a cross-functional context where interfaces to software, RF/microwave, and production are a natural part of everyday life. You have a practical understanding of how hardware works at the module and circuit board level and can analyze why a test does not yield the expected result, even if you do not execute the tests yourself.

Advantageous is experience from environments with many requirement setters and disciplines, such as customer requirements, product development, designers, production, safety, and ILS. As a person, you are communicative and collaboration-oriented, with a solution-oriented attitude. You have the ability to switch between the big picture and details and enjoy coordinating multiple perspectives to ensure the development work hangs together.

We are looking for you who have:

• A technical degree at the level of Civil Engineer/University level or equivalent work experience that provides comparable competence.
• Experience as a Systems Engineer with a focus on hardware.
• Experience in requirements engineering (defining, prioritizing, and approving requirements).
• Experience in system design and interfaces in cross-functional development environments.
• Experience in hardware testing related to integration, verification, and environmental qualification.
• Experience in troubleshooting and technical documentation.
• Basic understanding of RF and microwave technology, with the ability to analyze results and understand function.
• Good knowledge of English in speech and writing.
